Ephesians 3:1 ESV; Praise be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.
In its heyday, the Mount Morgan gold mine in central Queensland, Australia, was one of the largest and richest in the world. For many years, though, the original landowners lived in deep poverty on the mountain's barren surface, unaware that beneath their feet lay vast wealth that if tapped into would drastically change their lives.
Many Christians live in a similar situation, they plod along and struggle through their spiritual lives, labouring every step of the way. They are unaware of the vast riches God has promised them, and therefore they do not claim them. They forget about who they are in Christ. Jesus has not only saved us, but He has adopted us into His own family. Today, may we all remember that as followers of Christ we are His sons and daughters, and we have full access into the presence of God through Christ.
Grace, forgiveness, strength, wisdom, direction, victory, reconciliation, all these riches and many more are ours. But how do we become aware of them and claim them?
Well, many people know about God, read about Him, explore various theological resources and none of that is a bad thing. However, we donโt just
need to know about God we need to know Him personally. To have a per-
sonal relationship with Him we must be prayerfully reading the Bible, med-
itating on it, and obeying what God tells us to do. We also need to be
speaking to Him on a regular basis, after all without communication rela-
tionships never prosper.
Matthew 6:33 ESV โBut seek first the kingdom
of God and His righteousness, and all
these things will be added unto you.โ
