5 January 2025
God specializes in new beginnings. I’m wondering how many of us have made New Year’s resolutions. Let’s look at a change we could make to our speech for 2025.
We could try and remove “I can’t” from our language.
• If we decide to not use this word in 2025, our chances of having a healthier perspective on life will increase dramatically.
We’ve all used this small word at some point!
• I just can’t seem to save money.
• I’ve tried, but I can’t find the time to read the bible.
• I’ve tried to stop being so negative...but I just can’t stop!
• No matter how hard I try, I can’t change!
This year “we can” do everything God in-
tends for us to do.
• Philippians 4:13: ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’
• The context: Paul is under house arrest awaiting trial before Nero the Roman Emperor. Paul recognizes that death may be the end point of his imprisonment. Yet Paul was able to rejoice, he was at peace, because his hope was not dependent on his circumstances but on God. Paul’s victory didn’t come through his own strength. Christ was strengthening him in all circumstances. Regardless of how hard, difficult, or impossible things may seem if God wants us to do it WE CAN!
• Many people are defeated before they step into the New Year. God wants to break the cycle of “I can’t” that people speak over their own lives and
replace “I can’t” with the Word of God which says, ‘I can do all things through
Christ who strengthens me.’ Paul is not saying, ‘I can do anything I can dream
up.’ Paul is saying, ‘I can do everything God wants me to do this year.’
What Makes the Difference is Jesus Within!!
• Like Paul, we can have the victory over any circumstance by relying on Christ & His strength. Step into 2025 focused on moving forward and not looking back! You can in 2025 do everything God wants you to do.
• Inside us is the power of CHRIST - nothing is too difficult; nothing is impossible to our God. WE CAN live in Victory!
• Happy New Year – God is with us!
